Is it better to go and do swim workouts first thing in the morning before eating, and eat following the workout. or is it healthier to eat beforehand.

wouldn't it depend on the goal? I was always of the opinion that doing cardio first thing in the morning, prior to eating, burned straight fat as opposed to carbs or calories?

The difference is minuscule in the long scheme of exercise and burning calories.

Do what helps you get through the swim workout. If you normally eat first thing in the morning, don't go against your nature. If you can't exercise while on a full stomach, then don't eat beforehand.

If you normally eat in the morning, BUT you can't exercise on a full stomach, just eat a little bit, like an apple or a piece of toast or something.

Eat an apple or something light...it'll give you the energy and nourishment to get through the workout then u can eat a real breakfast afterwards.

Trying to workout on a full stomach has the chance to make you a little more tired/lazy. A light meal helps keep your brain alert and sharp which is better for your workout. Plus they always say wait 30 minutes after you eat to swim

Also if you have work/class afterwards then it would serve you better to eat after exercise cause if you put it off your gonna b starving soon enough
